A PUPIL was left distraught after being told he could not be on school photographs because of his Mohican hairstyle.

Connor Lill, ten, was forced to miss out on having his final year pictures taken at Edenthorpe Hall Primary School along with the rest of his friends because his daring do was “unacceptable”.

Dad Darren said his son was so upset about the snub that he did not want to go back to school and felt ‘singled out’.

Mr Lill said British champion tae kwon do star Connor had been growing his trendy trademark to look more intimidating to his opponents.

“He was really upset, he wanted to be with his friends and we’d done his hair especially,” said the 39-year-old.

“He wears it down for school and there hasn’t been a problem.

“He’s even had his hair up for photos for the Free Press in school, but now they have said it is unacceptable.

“The school has taken this too far. It’s unfair, he feels he has been singled out and he’s not going to be on the group photos with his friends.

“We even offered to wash his hair after but the school just wouldn’t compromise.

“Now he’s never going to be on those photographs in his last year.”

Mr Lill and Connor’s mum Denise, 32, of Wilberforce Road, Clay Lane, travel with their son all over Europe and have seen him scoop impressive gold medals.

The Armthorpe Ultimate Taekwondo member’s mohawk is such a trademark, he even has it sponsored by barber shop Sir, in Livingstone Avenue, Clay Lane.

Nobody was available for comment at Edenthorpe Hall at the time of going to press.
