Staff from Sheffield’s oldest locksmiths will be hoping they have the key to success when they lace up their trainers to take on a 10k challenge.
Eight employees from H Harrold & Sons Ltd will run the Morrisons Great Yorkshire Run on September 27, as part of the popular Business Challenge.
The 95-year-old Shalesmoor-based security company will compete under the name #TeamHarrold.
Becci Harrold, of the firm’s fifth generation, said: “We chose it because it’s local to us, and the route runs very close to our shop, so anyone who isn’t running will be supporting.”
The event starts and finishes on Arundel Gate with thousands of runners, joggers and walkers raising money for a variety of charities.
She continued: “We wanted to raise money for a local charity and after an office vote we decided on Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.
“We’re hoping to raise around £1,000, and have a collection tin on our counter for our customers to donate.
“We’re planning on training as a group, but we’ll probably run separately on the day, as we’re all at the different fitness levels!”
The Business Challenge aims to boost fitness, and motivation, as well as raising funds, and is open companies of all sizes who can enter male, female or mixed teams with a minimum of four and maximum of eight people, and the combined time of the fastest four finishers in each team will determine the result.
