A SUMMER spectacular marked a school’s impressive milestone as it celebrated its 100th birthday.

Colourful face-painting, fairground fun and games including hook-a-duck and even cartoon hero Bananaman were all on offer to capture Kirkby Avenue Primary School’s centenary celebrations.

There was no shortage of things to do at the Bentley-based birthday celebration with offerings including a raffle, barbecue, bouncy castle, bric-a-brac stalls, tombola, dancing demonstrations, brass band performances and a 500-strong balloon race.

A team from Doncaster Council also helped to display a floral tribute which they had grown in the shape of the number 100 especially for the primary school fair.

Organisers would like to thank people who helped to hold the event and donated items.
