Scores of runners of all ages, shapes and sizes are set to hot-foot it to Sandall Park this weekend as Doncaster gets set to stage its very first park run.
Park runs are weekly organised 5km timed runs, held in cities and towns across the globe, open to runners of all ages, and are free to enter – with participants able to complete the course at whatever pace they wish.
The very first run will get under way at 9am this Saturday and will then take place at the same time every Saturday.
A number of runners took part in a trial run around the park at the weekend and it is hoped the event will draw in an increasing band of athletes each week.
Runners must be registered before taking part in the first race and must bring along printed copies of their entry barcode to get a time.

Organisers are also looking for people to help marshal the route. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to help.
