Dearne MP, Michael Dugher, who was sacked from his position as Shadow Media, Culture and Sport secretary earlier this month, has reportedly been urged to launch a 'suicide bomb mission' to get rid of leader Jeremy Corbyn.
A Labour MP has told a national newspaper that Mr Dugher could launch a 'leadership coup' after the May local elections.
They said: "Labour negatives are deep and powerful"
“Dugher could go for a shot after May on a suicide bomb mission,” the MP said.
“It might raise his profile, if he spins it as doing something honourable for the sake of the party. He might win a senior job out of it.”
Commenting on Twitter, Michael Dugher did not comment on the claims but added that Mr Corbyn needed to 'deliver' at May's local elections.
He said: “We’ve got to get behind Jeremy & he’s got to show us he can deliver & can turn things around"
