Doncaster Rovers have made a generous offer of £2,000 to a Thorne-based charity.
The club have given their share of the Community Shield fund to Ethel Trust Community Barge which take children with physical and mental disabilities on canal trips.
A cheque presentation will take place tomorrow before Rovers’ Good Friday match against Crystal Palace.
Money raised through the FA competition is distributed to all clubs who competed in the first round proper of the FA Cup last season.
Thorne Masonic Lodge has also contributed £2,000 to the charity saying they would match the offer made by the football club.
Project co-ordinator Phil Harrison, of Ethel Trust Community Barge, said: “ It is absolutely fantastic, it is certainly a generous contribution from them.”
