IT might be the only time Buzz Lightyear, Mary Poppins and Where’s Wally are in the same room as scores of schools take part in World Book Day.

Pupils from primary and secondary schools in the area are expected to get into character and come to lessons dressed as their favourite book heroes and villans tomorrow.

The annual celebration held each time on March 1, is aimed at encouraging young people to read more.

Getting into the spirit in Doncaster includes pupils from Balby Carr Community Sports and Science College who will be having a family reading event and staff will be dressing up as characters from books penned by children’s author favourite Roald Dahl.

Two staff are also doing Harry Potter-themed lessons and a quiz for their class at the site in Weston Road, Balby.
