Party at the Ponds is being held at the Delves ponds at Fieldside in Thorne in the summer.

It is hoped the event will encourage more people to use the ponds and will get more children into fishing.

Organiser Peter Richardson, of Delves Fisheries, said they are now looking for stalls, children’s entertainers and fairground rides.

Mr Richardson said: “The music side of things is sorted, but I really need to get stall holders to book. We are charging charity stalls £5 per day, commercial stalls £10 per day.

“We are a non profitable organisation and all money raised will go towards getting kids off the streets and back into fishing with professional coaches.

“We have 23 bands all booked, including Britain’s number one tribute band Fake That, Doncaster’s own Slinky Peach, and some bands from far afield.

“We are doing camping for the first 250 to book.”

The festival is being held on June 11 and 12, following the success of a ‘trial festival’ last October.

As well as live music, the event promises beer tents, a bouncy castle, a barbeque and a cafe.

Children will also be offered fishing lessons during the festival.
