Officers have seized the vehicle of an disqualified Doncaster motorist, who was stopped by police as he was driving with a monkey on his shoulder.
South Yorkshire police stopped the vehicle travelling in Sprotbrough at around 9am yesterday morning (Sunday, November 22).
Tweeting from the SYP Operations Services Support account, a police spokesman said: "#Sprotborough Driver stopped with a #monkey (yes really) on his shoulder. #SYPRoadPolice"
They continued: "2/2 #Sprotborough. Car seized as driver Disqualified. Reported to Doncaster Magistrates. #SYPRoadPolice"
Further details on the driver or his pet monkey are not yet known.
