Doncaster seafood restaurant scoops top honour at food awards ceremony

Clam and Cork, which is based within Doncaster Fish Market, picked up the award for best speciality restaurant at the 2020 Oliver Awards, which celebrate the best of Yorkshire’s food and drink.
A spokesman for the restaurant, which was established in 2018, said: “What a catch for Doncaster.
“We're getting on the map for all the right reasons!

“This was not only a very special occasion for the Clam and Cork but for Doncaster Market who provide most of our produce.”
The ceremony, the 12th in the history of the awards, and organised by the Yorkshire Evening Post, was held at the Centenary Pavilion at Elland Road, Leeds.
Look North presenter and host Harry Gration said: “The judges say ‘as food memories go, this is up with the best' and the restaurant was classed in similarity to the world famous Mercardo de la Boqueria in Barcelona.

Hide AdLaura Collins, the editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post, said: "Within this room there are some of the most talented, creative and ambitious people from brewers to bar staff and fine dining chefs."
But, she added, they all had one thing in common and that was "passion and dedication" to the industry.
