Overnight work to renew road markings and road studs eyes along seven miles of the westbound M180 near Scunthorpe in north Lincolnshire will get underway next week, says the Highways Agency.
The £129,000 scheme, between Junctions 4 and 3 south of the town, will start on Tuesday 23 August and will be completed by Thursday 1 September.
Work will be suspended for the late summer Bank Holiday weekend – between Thursday evening (24 August) and the morning of Tuesday, 30 August.
The work will be taking place overnight between 8pm and 6am and will involve full closures of the westbound carriageway between these times on nights when work is taking place.
Some minor work to road markings will also be taking place on the eastbound carriageway between the same junctions but will only require the overnight closure of lane two of the carriageway.
Traffic will be diverted to Junction 3 via the A15, A18 and M181 when the westbound carriageway is closed from Junction 4.
Highways Agency project manager Steven Wright, said, “This is routine but important work to ensure we can maintain safe and reliable journeys for motorway users in this part of the network.
“We have timed work to take place when the motorway is least busy to minimise any inconvenience to drivers.”
