THE final stage of the Bramblebank Wood community nature area behind Althorpe and Keadby Primary School has been completed.
The Friends of Althorpe and Keadby Primary School secured £79,270 in funding to undertake the work which will see a grand opening take place today, Friday May 25 at 2pm by MP Andrew Percy.
There will be an afternoon of activities including performances from the school children who will be reading poetry, demonstrating creative artwork on a natural theme and a samba band performance.
This landmark project was to develop the area of woodland behind the school field providing a natural woodland environment for the whole community to explore and experience. Work began in July 2011.
There has been an ongoing programme of community events including Sunday sessions to plant bulbs, shrubs and trees, community litter picks and half term activity days.
The school has been involved from the start with nature walks and art lessons.
