ROTHERHAM mayor Shaun Wright will officially open the town’s new library on Monday.
The new library, heritage and Arts space will be unveiled at Riverside House in the town centre after services were moved from its previous home at Walker Place.
The opening, which coincides with St. George’s Day, Shakespeare’s birthday and World Book Night, will feature a day full of drop in sessions and activities.
Manager for integrated cultural services, Julie Hird, said: “It’s been a quite incredible team effort to relocate the library across town over the past couple of months. We’ve moved approximately 51,000 books, 6,000 DVDs, 4,500 CDs and 40 public access PCs.”
