A mum is hoping to dish up success after opening up a new cafe in Conisbrough.
Cream teas and savoury snacks are on the menu at the Courtyard Café which has just opened its doors for the summer.
The new facility at The Terrace in Conisbrough is already attracting visitors from the nearby castle as well as passers-by.
Set up by Mexborough mum Rebecca Carter, who also runs an adult day care centre at The Terrace, the café serves up food and refreshments prepared on site on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am until 4pm.
Rebecca already provides food as part of her day care offer and has branched out into the café business just weeks after opening her first venture.
“It’s been a very busy time and although the two businesses are entirely separate, it seemed a good idea to offer people somewhere to have a drink or something to eat especially if they’re in Conisbrough to see the castle which is just across the road,” explained Rebecca.
The menu includes cakes, scones, salads and sandwiches as well as a selection of hot snacks served in the rear courtyard or front-facing patio area which has views of the imposing castle.
“We had customers on the first day who had just seen the sign and dropped in for a drink and a sandwich so we’ve had a good response already and we’ll be open throughout the summer four days a week until the end of September,” added Rebecca.
She has also launched a website for Terrace Gardens adult day centre which is open seven days a week to support people aged over 50 who are generally independent.
