Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust is set to launch its annual Mile of Coins appeal in a bid to raise another £1m to develop cancer treatment at St John’s Hospice and Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
MP Rosie Winterton will be on hand in the Frenchgate Centre on Saturday at the official launch of the popular fundraiser that will run until July 13.
The trust’s last major fundraising success - in conjunction with Free Press readers -was to buy a scanner for DRI.
The Mile of Coins fundraiser is located on the upper mall of the Frenchgate Centre.
Members of Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust are urging shoppers to donate their loose change to swell the appeal.
Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust was launched in 1972 to purchase first line equipment to diagnose and treat cancer for Doncaster residents.
