Families who have experienced the death of a baby can remember their loss at an annual ‘special memories services’.
Anyone who has been affected by a pregnancy loss, stillbirth or neonatal death is invited to attend the event organised by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Some parents come to remember a recent loss and some come to remember a baby who died some years ago.
Deirdre Fowler, Acting Director of Nursing & Quality, said: “The Special Memories Services offer parents, families and friends the opportunity to remember babies who have died during pregnancy or shortly after birth. The service provides an opportunity to meet with others who have experienced similar loss and a time to remember their own baby.”
The service at Bassetlaw Hospital takes place on Wednesday at 7pm in the hospital chapel. The service at Doncaster Royal Infirmary takes place on Sunday at 2.30pm in the main Outpatient Department (near the Emergency Department). There is also a ‘baby remembrance book’ in the Chapels at Bassetlaw Hospital and DRI.
