Man seriously injured in Wombwell collision

A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was involved in a road traffic collision in Wombwell.

The 23-year-old was a passenger in a silver Ford Mondeo that was travelling along Pitt Street in the direction of Station Road when it was in collision with a parked vehicle before mounting the pavement and colliding with a lamppost.

A 23-year-old man who was driving and a 22-year-old female passenger were also taken to hospital to be treated for injuries. The incident happened on Sunday, February 15, at about 3.15am.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or the manner of driving prior to the collision, to please call the police 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 192 of 15 February 2015.”
