Three men have been arrested after two high speed car chases through Thorne.

Officers spotted two Ford Focus’ and a Citroen C2 car speeding along Coulman Road in convoy in the early hours of Sunday, March 4

When they were signalled to pull over, the three cars broke off in different directions and sped away from police - who pursued one of the cars into Thorne before it crashed into a field.

The driver managed to escape, but the passenger was arrested in connection with a burglary on Foxhill Road, Thorne.

The following night at 1.30am officers were involved in a second chase with a Vauxhall Astra as it headed out of Thorne before heading to Moorends along Micklethwaite Grove before the passenger leapt from the moving car.

The driver then crashed into a parked car and fled the scene.

The police gave chase and arrested both men at a property in Northgate.

The three men have been remanded to custody after appearing at Doncaster Crown Court on Tuesday, March 6, charged with burglary.

PC Andy Hotchkiss said: “We will not tolerate criminal activity and antisocial behaviour in Doncaster and I would urge the public to always report a crime to the police.”
