One Direction: Head for Sheffield City Hall on Friday, January 20, 2011.
LOUIS-MANIA is heading home in One Direction - to South Yorkshire, writes digital editor Graham Walker.
Pop star Louis Tomlinson, from Doncaster, and his chart-topping X Factor band have announced their first 21-date tour - including a homecoming date at Sheffield City Hall on Friday, January 20.
Tickets are expected to sell out in minutes when they go on sale this weekend.
Louis and his band mates attracted the attention of thousands of screaming girls when the band played on the X Factor Live tour at Sheffield Arena earlier this year.
Their debut single, What Makes You Beautiful, shot to number one on iTunes within 15 minutes of being released and achieved the biggest week one sales of 2011, selling 153,965 copies.
Their second book, Dare to Dream, also instantly rocketed to number one this week.
After months of fevered anticipation and levels of hysteria not witnessed for decades, One Direction, the UK’s most exciting new pop band, have now announce a string of live dates across the UK and Ireland this December and January.
The tour will see One Direction making stops at various key venues around the country, including London’s HMV Apollo, Manchester’s O2 Apollo, Liverpool’s Echo Arena and Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena. The tour wraps with shows in Ireland at the O2 in Dublin and the Waterfront in Belfast.
They are no strangers to performing to huge crowds after wowing fans on The X Factor Live Tour earlier this year. Their first headline tour will see the band performing songs from thei debut album, to be released this November, alongside some of their favourite covers and a few surprises.
Tickets, priced £27.50 & £19.50 - under 14s must be accompanied by an adult - will be available from Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 10am.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 08:58 AMThey're a bunch of kids that got lucky on X-Factor last year. They all failed their solo auditions and got put together to form a group so that the 2 lads that can actually sing (Liam and Harry) can cover up the wailing of the 3 that are tone deaf....
