South Yorkshire Police Officers

South Yorkshire Police Officers

Police are advising motorists to avoid parts of Doncaster this morning as a large funeral is due to take place.

A procession including a horse-drawn carriage will be leaving Burcroft Hill, Mexborough at 10.30am.

It will travel along the A630 through Conisbrough before heading into Doncaster town centre.

A service will be held at St Peter-in-Chains on Chequer Road at noon and is expected to last around 30-40 minutes.

The procession will then head towards Rose Hill Crematorium on Cantley Lane.

Following the cremation, the procession will go back to Mexborough.

Police are advising motorists to avoid these areas where possible or leave extra journey time, as there will be considerable delays due to the speed at which the procession will be travelling.
