The sun shone down and crowds turned out in force for the 129th Sykehouse Show.

With agriculture, horticulture, livestock, arts and crafts and much more, there was something to suit all ages and tastes.

Attractions included a carriage driving display and, for the first time in 40 years, there was a small display of pigs.

In the entertainment ring there were exhibits from Ferret World, where youngsters got the chance to race against the animals. Other attractions also included the Park Rose Birds of Prey Flying Display, Bill Heslop’s Sheepdog ‘n’ Ducks ‘n’ Sheep exhibition and a children’s fancy dress competition. Visitors were also treated to a clown, Punch and Judy shows, as well as a working blacksmith display.

Pictured above are Margret Payling, vice president, presenting Zara Smith, eight with her first ridden pony prize.
