Brave crews ran a gauntlet of flying flour and eggs as they took to the water for an annual boat race to raise money for charity.

A total of 18 teams took to the River Idle near The Haxey Gate Inn for the challenge on Saturday morning.

Crews dodged flying flour and egg bombs, thrown by spectators, as part of the fun annual tradition.

All proceeds went to the Help for Heroes charity.
