VIDEO: Crowds enjoy Tickhill Gala

Waiting for Video...

There was plenty of fun in the sun as hundreds of people turned out to celebrate the annual Tickhill Gala.

Visitors young and old lined the streets of the historic market town to enjoy a carnival parade of floats with local schools, Brownies, Beavers and Scout groups throwing themselves into the fun.

The parade, bathed in glorious sunshine, snaked its way from Wong Lane to the recreation ground off Sunderland Street where there was plenty more fun and games and refreshments in store for the event, now in its 41st year.

And the steps of the pictureque Buttercross proved to be the best vantage point from which to enjoy the colourful carnival which also included music and dance.
