A group of soldiers used pedal power to raise £2,000 for a fund set up to help charities in memory of Warsop soldier Lee Bonsall.

The soldiers from Y Platoon, 5th Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, part of the Rifles Regiment, undertook the local leg of a bike ride from Whitby to Warsop, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

The ride, which covers over 100 miles in total, raised money for a fund set up to help charities in the fallen soldier’s memory.

The Civic Mayor, Councillor Eddie Dobbs, has chosen the Soldiers, Seamen and Airmen’s Families Association (SSAFA) as one of his charities

Councillor Eddie Dobbs said: “It is great that SSAFA will benefit from this fantastic fundraising event.”
