Tributes paid to Scawthorpe newsagent Steve Dunn

Steven Dunn, who ran a newsagents in Scawthorpe, has tragically lost his battle with cancer at the age of 61.

Steven Dunn, who ran a newsagents in Scawthorpe, has tragically lost his battle with cancer at the age of 61.

Tribute has been paid to a well known Doncaster newsagent who lost hs battle with cancer last month.

Steven Roland Dunn (Steve) worked at Dunn’s Newsagents in Scawthorpe from 1955-2004, taking over the running of the business from his parents in 1976.

He was born in Doncaster, living in Scawthorpe all his life.

Steve was a child of the sixties and spent the early ‘70’s working to fund his love of music and travel. In 1977 he married Linda Dunn (nee Blakey) and went on to have ‘his three girls’, Michelle, Victoria and Hannah. Daughter Hannah said: “People who knew or met hime in the last couple of years would be told of how proud he was of his daughter’s careers and adventures he supported them with as they took on numerous treks, abseiling challenges and climbing Kilimanjaro, all for charity.”

Steve died peacefully in his home with his family with him on April 28.
