The new My Guide service is leading the way for Doncaster’s visually impaired.

Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton has shown her support for the Guide Dogs for the Blind project by taking part in a demonstration where she wore a blindfold to experience and raise awareness of how a sighted guide can help alleviate some of the difficulties people with sight loss face on a daily basis.

She said: “My Guide is an excellent scheme which will help to change the lives of people in Doncaster who may have become isolated as a result of their sight loss. Volunteering to become a guide is a useful skill, and I’d encourage people in the area to get involved and take part.”

Guide Dogs launched the My Guide service in Doncaster with an event at Priory Place Methodist Church.
