Less than a week until Doncaster goes to the polls

Doncaster Council is reminding voters that Polling Day for ward council and European elections is Thursday May 22.

Polling stations are open from 7am–10pm. etails of the nearest polling station are printed on polling cards which voters will have received in the post.

Twenty one seats on Doncaster Council are up for election. Votes for the council elections will be counted on Friday May 23 with the winning candidates being announced during the day. The European count will take place on the Sunday.

Voters have until 5pm on election day to request a replacement for undelivered or spoilt ballot papers, to apply to vote by proxy on grounds of a medical emergency or for reason related to their occupation, employment or service.

Returning Officer and Chief Executive Jo Miller said: “Make sure you remember to vote on Thursday 22 May 2014. These are your local services so make your voice heard.”

Doncaster Council is promoting the #donnycouncil2014 hashtag to group tweets about the ward council election.
