New jobs are set to be created at a Doncaster factory thanks to a £530,000 investment.

The investment could see Bankwood Meats create 15 new jobs at its HQ in Thorne.

The company currently employs 20 people at the site that is a specialist in quality cooked turkey products.

The company has secured £530,000 from Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Sheffield.

John Hearsey, Director at Bankwood Meats, said: “This significant financial commitment will help us to extend our reach in a sector we have been established in for the last decade.

“By investing in our business and new staff we will be able to expand our client base while providing existing customers with an enhanced service.

“This would not have been possible without the support of the Yorkshire Bank which has worked closely with our team to help us realise our ambitions.”

Bankwood Meats currently has annual turnover of around £2.6m and plans to double this to £5m in the next five years.

Kevin Elliott, head of Yorkshire Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Sheffield, said: “As we begin to see signs of economic recovery, Yorkshire Bank remains focused on investing in the growth ambitions of the local business community.”
