A grime-busting day has been planned for another litter hotspot in Swinton.

It is all thanks to local councillors John Doyle, Ken Wyatt and Stewart Sansome (pictured at a clean up earlier this year in Bridge Street), who will join residents in Goodwin Crescent on September 5 from 9.30am to noon for a clean sweep of the area.

Coun Doyle said a skip would be provided and also litter picking equipment for any residents who wish to take part.

He added: “We want to make sure the streets of Swinton are clean and neat. I feel, as residents, we need to do more in each of our areas as part of making the whole borough tidy and much more pleasant place to live.”

He further added: “Already this year we have had clean ups at Pottery Ponds and Creighton Woods in Swinton with more clean-ups to come.”
