Seven six-week old Poochon puppies have been stolen from a property in Cusworth.

A devastated dog owner has told of her heartbreak after thieves stole seven puppies from her home.

The litter of six-week-old Poochon puppies were taken from their pen at a home on Cusworth Lane, Cusworth, on Wednesday between 10.50am and noon.

Owner Franchesca Knapton, aged 23, a mum-of-two, said: “I’m devastated. They are so young and have not even been vaccinated yet. They are worth up to £500 each so we think someone may have taken them to sell on.

“Their mum Meg just keeps crying. We are desperate for them back.”

The pups, a cross between the Poodle and Bichon Frise breed, are a mixture of three black girls, one black boy, one brown girl and two caramel coloured boys. Forced entry was gained into the property through a rear patio door.

Anyone who has any information or who is offered a puppy for sale they believe may be one of the stolen pups should contact police on 101.
