A Doncaster opticians has its sights set firmly on raising money for a worthy cause.

Parkhurst Opticians, which has branches in Thorne and Bentley, is running two competitions – guess the number of contact lenses in a jar, and guess the number of spectacle frames in a jar.

The store wants to raise more than £250 for a global fundraising initiative called worldewide charity called Optomotery Giving Sight.

Optometrist Emma Parkhurst-Tubby said: “Every £3 raised for the charity goes on an eye examination and glasses for someone who is in need.”
