Keen cyclists still have the chance to enter a 65 or 100 mile bike ride to help raise money for Doncaster’s hospice appeal.

The St John’s Hospice Appeal Sportive takes place on Sunday, July 13, and is aimed at keen and leisure cyclists looking for a challenge. Both routes will start at St Catherine’s House in Woodfield Park, off Tickhill Road, Balby.

So if you feel inspired by the Tour de France – why not give the challenge a go!

The shorter route circumnavigates Doncaster, while the longer route swings out towards Goole and Snaith and then Campsall.

Ian Jerams organiser of the event and a Director at RDaSH said: “This is a new event for the sportive calendar, aimed at keen cyclists and leisure cyclists looking for a challenge. Both routes take participants through the South Yorkshire cycling heartland, through rolling countryside on mainly minor roads.

“This exciting event will include electronic timing, refreshment stops, mobile assistance, finish line refreshments and a goodie bag. Sports therapy massage will also be available for an additional small donation to the appeal.”

Ian added: “This event is taking place whilst the Tour De France thrills and inspires people around the world – so a brilliant time to get on your bike and support a great appeal.”

If you would like to take part the online entry fee is £26 for each distance – with all proceeds going directly to The St John’s Hospice Development Appeal.
