Friends of a Doncaster engineer who was killed in a lift accident last month have organised a charity football match in his memory this weekend.
The game is due to take place at 1pm at Rossington Main football ground in Oxford Street tomorrow. (Sunday)
Teams will don Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday strips. Lee Johnson, aged 37, of Haig Crescent, Rossington, was an Owls fan.
Lee, a father-of-two, died in a lift plunge at the office block in Hull where he was working and the tragic incident is still under investigation.
Jason Inglis, a pal since they were pupils at Hayfield School, said organisers were hoping to get a crowd of more than 500 out to watch. There will also be an after-match party at the Rossington Labour Club.
All donations will go to the father-of-two’s family.
The match may become an annual event to benefit other local charities.
