Would-be stereo thief locked up

A WOULD-BE thief has been jailed for six months for attempted theft from a car.

Steven Wright, 32, of Lister Avenue, Balby, tried to steal a stereo in Glenfield Avenue, Hexthorpe, on April 20, but a member of the public witnessed him in action and called the police.

Officers found him near the scene. He admitted attempted theft.

Det Con Jon White said: “The sentence reflects Wright’s habitual offending and should send out a clear message.”
