Woman jailed for fake gun raid on Doncaster shop
Convicted - Simone Ginette Larner, 27, from Stainforth.
A WOMAN who held up a Doncaster shop with a fake gun for just £60 worth of tobacco has been jailed.
Simone Larner, aged 27, of Bootham Crescent, Stainforth, threatened staff at a newsagent on Thorne Road, Stainforth, with an imitation handgun and demanded cash from the till.
As the members of staff were unable to open the till, the woman grabbed 10 pouches of tobacco valued at £60 and left the premises.
Police were called out and she was arrested after leaving the store.
The staff involved were left shaken but uninjured.
She was sentenced by a judge at Sheffield Crown Court to four-and-a-half years in prison for the robbery, which happened last month.
Det Cons Michelle Thompson said: “The sentencing at court is a true reflection of the seriousness of this crime. By making threats with an imitation handgun, the incident was particularly terrifying for the staff involved, who were thankfully, not physically injured.”
