Westwoodside abduction bid still unsolved

A MAN who attempted to drag an Isle teenager in to his car last summer, is still on the loose and wanted by police.

The potential child abductor was declared one of Humberside Police’s most wanted criminals at the end of last year after he tried to get a 16-year-old girl into his car between Haxey and Westwoodside.

The girl was walking in Tower Hill, Westwoodside, on August 9 when she was approached by a man in a green Ford hatchback.

The driver grabbed hold of the girl’s arm, before she managed to pull away and the vehicle drove off in the direction of Haxey.

Police released an e-fit photograph at the time and described the suspect as white, in his late 40s or early 50s, with tanned skin, full facial stubble and long, dark messy hair.

He was wearing a white shirt, with blue and red patterns on it, and a green quilted waistcoat or body warmer over the top.

His voice was deep and he spoke with a South Yorkshire accent.

Det Con Coates of Humberside police warned females in particular at the time to remember to be vigilant when out walking alone.
