VIDEO: Flooding in Doncaster as alerts remain in place
Following continued rainfall the following Flood Alerts remain in place:-
River Don lower catchment
River Don middle catchment
River Idle at Bawtry
A flood alert means “flooding is possible, low lying lands and roads will be affected first”.
If the situation worsens, advice to people who may be affected is to start to prepare your property by moving valuables and other items upstairs or to higher levels.
You may also need to consider making arrangements to leave your property and going to stay with friends or relatives if you can (this may involve packing an overnight bag and ensuring you have any medication you take with you.
Roads affected are as follows:-
Fordstead Lane at Thorpe Marsh remains closed due to Thorpe Marsh washlands spilling onto the road.
The following bridges remain closed:
Grays Bridge at Denaby Main due to the need to remove debris that has gathered.
Bridges now open:
Jubilee Bridge at Stainforth and Kirk Bramwith Bridge.
Drivers and pedestrians are reminded of the need to be extra careful if driving through surface water flooding.
