Two hurt in collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash which left a woman in a life-threatening condition to come forward.
The collision happened on Wakefield Road, Barnsley, at 7pm on Saturday when a black Honda CRV travelling towards Barnsley collided with two pedestrians crossing the road.
One pedestrian, a 48-year-old Barnsley woman, sustained a broken pelvis and leg and a head injury. Police said she was detained at Northern General Hospital in a life threatening condition.
The second pedestrian, a 44-year-old Barnsley man, suffered a broken leg. He was described as being in a serious condition at Barnsley General Hospital.
The driver of the Honda, a 53-year-old Barnsley man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
