Trio of arson attacks

TWO cars and a van were set alight last night in a spate of arson attacks across the borough.

Firefighters were called out to tackle a blaze which started in a Vauxhall Combo van that was left abandoned along Rakes Lane in Edlington.

A crew from Edlington spent around half an hour putting out the fire which started around 7.15pm.

A couple of hours later another fire began deliberately when a Ford Focus was alight in Holme Wood Lane, Armthorpe, on a bridge near to the M18.

The fire was put out in 45 minutes.

Finally, the backseat of a Vauxhall Corsa parked along Shakespeare Road, Bentley, was badly damaged following a small fire inside.

Adwick station was called out to deal with the deliberate fire at around midnight.
