RESIDENTS are invited to attend a drop in session on plans to redevelop Mexborough town centre.

The five hour session will be held on Thursday, February 28, from 11am to 4pm, at Mexborough Resource Centre. Plans will be displayed including artists impressions and councillors will be on hand to discuss the options.

The town is set for a cash windfall to improve the market area, including £50,000 from the Government’s High Street Innovation Fund and part of a £2.5 million grant from Doncaster Community Arts.

Mexborough is also in line for a £350, 000 cash boost from Doncaster Council as part of a scheme to improve the borough’s markets.

A decision on the town redevelopment will be made immediately after the meeting.

Councillor David Holland said: “It’s your town, your town centre. Tell us what you want.”
