High-speed fibre broadband is now available to the first homes and businesses in Askern.

The new broadband service will offer download speeds of up to 80mbps and upload speeds of up to 20mbps.

John Anderson, BT’s regional director for Yorkshire and the Humber, said: “The advent of fibre broadband in Askern is a massive boost for businesses and households in the communities. It will enrich people’s lives and bring a much-needed boost to businesses in these economically challenging times.”

Improved speeds mean a family could download a movie, watch online TV, surf the net and playing games online all at the same time. And an album will take less than 30 seconds to download.
