IT’S all about ‘eliminating the impossible’ at one of the two new after-school clubs at a Wombwell school.

Recently introduced weekly sessions in forensic science, and animation are proving big hits with pupils at High View Primary Learning Centre.

Both subjects are an experimental departure from the usual sports and crafts clubs that still feature on the timetable.

Pupils were keen to try something different, said school manager Tim Marsh, and many signed up for Forensic Science with Sherlock Bone, and for the Stop Motion Animation club, that explains the whole procedure behind such character creations as Wallace and Gromit.

Fly fishing is another new departure, that began this week, and there are many more ideas to be taken up over the year.

“These subjects seem to have captured the kids’ imagination”, added Mr Marsh. “They’re very interested in crime scene investigation, for example...”

The hourly club sessions are held each Tuesday from 3.20pm to 4.20pm.
