THE scientists of tomorrow showcased their talents as youngsters competed in an event aimed at inspiring the generation of innovators.
Former Tomorrow’s World presenter Maggie Philbin hosted the TeenTech challenge at Doncaster Racecourse which saw schools across the borough take part in a range of experiments.
Teenagers also got the chance to speak to business leaders, including bosses from Pegler, Boxes and Packaging, i-education Ltd and Clyde Bergemann - about how to get into the science and technology industry.
Challenges pupils took part in included designing their own mobile phone app and creating a city of tomorrow using green technology to reduce our carbon footprint.
Organiser John Barber, business development manager at Business Education and South Yorkshire, said: “We want to show young people that science isn’t all about people in white coats in labs, and that it can be fun.”
