A HARDWORKING volunteer has been recognised for his dedication and service to RSPB Old Moor nature reserve in Wombwell.

Patrick Harvey works as a member of the Wetland Workforce - a group of volunteers with learning disabilities which carry out essential maintenance and quality assurance checks on the reserve.

He was rewarded with a certificate and special commemorative badge by staff at the centre for all his hard work.

Liane Holdsworth, visitor experience officer at the reserve, said: “We are so pleased to be able to give Patrick this award. He is a pleasure to work with and a great asset to the site.”
