Prison leads suicide table

A THIRD of inmates who have killed themselves in privately run prisons did so in Doncaster.

A total of 23 prisoners have committed suicide in HMP Doncaster since 1994, with 15 more dying of natural causes and one from an unknown cause.

The figures, to the end of 2010, were released by Crispin Blunt, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Prisons.
