Plans for former cop station

PLANS have been revealed to tranform a former police station in Mexborough into apartments.

A proposal would see the former cop station at Waveney House, on New Oxford Road, become four apartments and the erection of a two storey pitched roof extension to form four more apartments.

A planning application for a change of use has been submitted to Doncaster Council by Garry Greetham, of GG Associates Ltd. On behalf of Waveney House Dev Ltd.

According to the application, the building has been empty ‘for some time’ and is in a ‘poor state of repair’.

The four apartments would each have two bedrooms, separate bathrooms, and separate open living, dining and kitchen areas.

The new build rear extension will cater for a ‘drive under’ to allow private vehicular access to required additional car parking.

No determination date has yet been set.
