Officers make arrests after child abuse raids

NINE men have been arrested and five children taken into police care following a series of raids into child abuse.

Officers from South And West Yorkshire carried out the raids across the county this morning as part of Operation Tharsley, with the men being arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.

The men’s computers were siezed and five children were taken into police care after being found living in poor conditions.

The men, aged between 44 and 60-years-old have now been released on bail as police continue their investigations.
