Murder charge men appear in court

TWO men have appeared in court charged with murdering a dad who was gunned down on his doorstep in Wath.

Nathan Paul Wingfield and Stephen Barry Rodgers are charged with murdering Tyrone Woodhead, 42.

Mr Woodhead suffered a gunshot wound at his Doncaster Road home on September 20 and died five weeks later.

Wingfield, 22, pleaded not guilty to an unrelated robbery on September 9, Mr Woodhead’s murder and another robbery on September 21.

He also denied possessing an axe at the Keepmoat Stadium on September 27.

Rodgers, 29, pleaded not guilty to murder and not guilty to the September 21 robbery.

Both are of no fixed address and they will stand trial at Sheffield Crown Court in March.
