Mini sagas get maximum results for Kings Oak kids

They have a winning way with words at Wombwell - at one particular school anyway!
An amazingly high number of Kings Oak Primary Learning Centre pupils have been successful, after entering a national writing competition on subjects of their choice.
All together, 28 youngsters have been shortlisted in the creative writing challenge, Mini Sagas, by the Young Writers organisation.
This means that their work is likely to feature in a published book - to be titled ‘Mini Sagas - Amazing Adventures Yorkshire’.
Staff spokeswoman Joanne Swift of Kings Oak said: “The children’s work was selected based on imagination, perception, expression and the creative use of language. We’re thrilled that so many of them impressed the judges”.
She continued: “An editorial team will now select school winners but we know this achievement will encourage confident participation in future creative activities in school”.
The best set of entries will win £1000, with £500 to runners-up and a third prize of £250.
