Man flees burning home

A MAN was forced to flee his home after a fire broke out in the chimney.

The blaze happened at a property on Doncaster Road, Goldthorpe, at 2.10am on Tuesday.

A crew from Dearne Fire Station attended and spent over an hour tackling the flames.

The occupant managed to get out of the property unharmed.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said the cause of the blaze was accidental.
